FUTURE Z launch · Interactive football with Neymar Jr..

From idea
to reality.
For the launch of the PUMA FUTURE Z, we created a fully interactive football experience built around Neymar Jr.
Designed for an event bringing together creators, athletes and the football community, the experience turned the product launch into a live game combining physical movement, real-time tracking, 3D content and interactive technology.
Guests moved through a custom football course, dribbling through the space and hitting reactive surfaces before reaching the final challenge: a live face-off controlled directly by Neymar.
The journey was designed as a progression.
Players first entered a physical dribbling course where their interactions with the ball were detected throughout the space. Every impact, movement and successful action became part of the experience.
At the final station, players faced a large digital screen while Neymar controlled the game from an iPad. In real time, he could select where the next target would appear. The player had three attempts to hit it.
Each successful shot triggered a visual impact on the screen, progressively cracking and destroying the virtual surface until the final hit completely broke it apart.
The entire experience relied on a custom real-time tracking system. Multiple LIDAR sensors were deployed throughout the installation to detect the trajectory and impact position of the football across the different interactive zones.
The system translated physical interactions into digital events with minimal latency, allowing the visuals, scoring logic and game states to react instantly to what was happening in the space.
Tracking data, game logic and interactive content were orchestrated through TouchDesigner, which acted as the core real-time engine of the experience.
The final challenge was not pre-scripted. A dedicated control interface was developed for Neymar, allowing him to choose the target position live from an iPad.
His input was transmitted directly to the interactive system, generating the target on the main screen and creating a genuine live exchange between Neymar and each participant. Physical action, remote input and digital content were therefore all synchronized in real time.
To bring Neymar directly into the digital world of the experience, we created a full 3D scan of Neymar Jr.
His digital double was integrated into a real-time environment developed with Unreal Engine, allowing us to build custom animations and visual sequences around the FUTURE Z universe.
The result combined photorealistic 3D assets with game-engine rendering and interactive content generated live during the event.
Every shot had a visual consequence. When a player successfully hit the selected target, the screen reacted with a real-time destruction sequence.
Cracks, impacts and deformation accumulated over the three attempts, creating the feeling that the physical football was actually breaking through the digital surface.
Rather than simply triggering videos, the installation was designed as a reactive system where visuals evolved according to player actions.
The technology was integrated into a complete physical environment designed as part of the experience. We developed the scenography and lighting to connect the architecture of the space with the interactive content, making sensors, screens, game zones and visual effects feel like one coherent system rather than separate technical elements.
The result was part football challenge, part live show and part interactive installation.
